Pilar Drake is a senior scientist of the Department of Ecology and Coastal Management of the ICMAN (CSIC). She has extensive experience in the science and management of estuaries and coastal areas, and in the effects of marine/estuarine pollution and human activities on marine and estuarine aquatic communities.
During last decades, she has been involved in projects aiming to assess the relationship between estuarine communities and environmental conditions. As results of such activity, she has published numerous papers, in international peer-reviewed journals and books, concerning species recruitment, habitat uses, life cycles, eco-physiological adaptations, exotic species and anthropogenic impacts on communities of estuarine systems.
